It’s been a while since I’ve put up a beauty post, but this was something that was highly requested, once again, by my followers on twitter! So, shout out to y’all and thanks a million for interacting with me through that platform. If you’re not following me already you can find me @locatingstyle.
Anyway, today I’m going to be talking to y’all a little bit about what I do to give my skin a little love. Finally, it’s here, my skincare routine!!! I’ll go through the products I have, where I’ve purchased them, and when/how I use them within my routine.
I’d like to thank my housemate and photographer, Elizabeth, for these amazing photos she took on one of her many beautiful film cameras. I’ll be sure to link her instagram at the bottom of this post so you can see all of her other pictures!
Above are all of the products I use throughout my skincare routine. They all have a bit of a different use, so let’s go ahead and get into each of them individually. We’ll start with the morning routine.
To start my skincare routine off, in the morning I use this beautiful Tony Moly Cleanser with cold water. I was able to purchase this cleanser at my local Ulta. This Natural Green Moisture Foam Cleanser with Shea Butter is the perfect simple wash for the morning and really leaves your skin feeling moisturized. Most of all I love it because of the smooth texture and the way it foams up when you’re massaging it into your skin! Now, if I’m not wearing makeup for that day this is where I stop, but if I know I’m going to put on any sort of makeup I will continue to the next/last step in my morning skincare routine.
This moisturizer I happily received from Elizabeth due to the fact that one night we were talking about our skincare and I mentioned that my moisturizer wasn’t all that great for under makeup and throughout the day. The Simple Kind To Skin Illuminating Radiance Cream is perfect for under your makeup because it adds just the right amount of glimmer to my skin. The glimmer this moisturizer adds, however, is also the reason I don’t use it if I’m not wearing makeup; If you don’t a foundation on top of this product you can clearly see the “illuminating” aspect of the radiance cream which is essentially very very small shimmery bits. All in All: perfect for under makeup, but not great on its own. (Unless you want to look like a Cullen)
Now it’s on to the night time skincare.
When it comes to my nightly skincare routine I start off with warm water, rinse my face, add a pea sized amount of this cleanser and wash your scrub your face in circular motions. I picked this up at my local Ulta and it was for sure a good decision. After my skin is lathered I rinse with warm water and the cleanse is practically done! About once a week I substitute this cleanser for the Philosophy The Microdelivery Exfoliating Wash to give my skin a bit of a deeper cleanse and to get rid of any stubborn dirt, clogged pores, or dry skin.
The last step in cleansing is running a baby wipe over my entire face, focussing on my eyes, to make sure that any residue of makeup from that day is fully off of my face. The next step is my night time moisturizer.
The final step in my night time skincare routine is making sure that my skin has a nice layer of this moisturizing cream to hydrate my skin throughout the night. You can grab this heavy duty moisturizer at your local dollar general for just a few dollars and it really does supply your skin with all the hydrating it needs!
And that’s that. My whole skincare routine; sweet, simple, and to the point! I hope you all found some products that you’ll try out and I’d love to know if they work for you as well! The Tony Moly Foam Cleanser is definitely my favorite out of this bunch, so i recommend you go give it a try.
